Cien Años

As a long time creative, Shaun has always been a source of inspiration for me. So you can imagine my excitement when we decided to join forces to capture his latest masterpiece: the 100-year Giant Dipper anniversary mural at the iconic Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. It was a dream come true to document Shaun's incredible talent against the backdrop of one of the world's most famous amusement parks.

But as fate would have it, this project became about so much more than just art. During the mural's creation, Shaun's partner, Jessica, went into labor – talk about perfect timing! And so, amidst the paint-splattered chaos of creation, a new chapter began for Shaun and Jessica: parenthood.

Their precious baby girl, Myra, made her grand entrance into the world, her fiery red hair a perfect reflection of her artist father. And suddenly, this project transformed into something even more magical – a celebration of love, family, and the beautiful chaos of life itself.

From the vibrant setting to the incredible role model turned friend, capturing Shaun, Jessica, and baby Myra was an experience I'll cherish forever. It's moments like these that remind me why I fell in love with photography in the first place – the ability to freeze time, to capture the fleeting magic of life, and to turn fleeting moments into cherished memories.
